Company History

1991

Ströer Digital Media GmbH is founded in Nuremberg as Infoscreen Gesellschaft für Stadtinformationsanlagen mbH: The goal of the company is to bridge waiting times on train platforms with advertising and editorial content and offer passengers welcome entertainment

1994

The first two Station-Infoscreens go into operation at Odeonsplatz in Munich.

1997

In cooperation with Gewista Werbegesellschaft mbH, Vienna, Infoscreen Austria is founded (since 2003 completely owned by Gewista).

2003

Infoscreen celebrates the installation of the 100th Station-Infoscreen.

2004

The Ad Walk at Düsseldorf International Airport is put into operation.
Infoscreen becomes a part of Ströer Group and is renamed
Ströer Infoscreen GmbH

2005

Additional Ad Walks are installed at Düsseldorf International Airport.

2006

The newly developed Central-Infoscreens are installed in the main stations of many major German cities. Station-Infoscreen can now be found at suburban train stations.

2007

Ströer Digital puts its 200th Station-Infoscreen into operation. Berlin's main railway station, Hauptbahnhof, is equipped with Ad Walks.

2008

Bielefeld becomes a new Infoscreen city. Infoscreen can now be found in 18 major German cities with a total of 229 Station-Infoscreens on subway and suburban train platforms and 12 Central-Infoscreens in the waiting areas of the most important main train stations.

2009

Infoscreen in now entertaining Munich suburban train passengers. At the same time the number of screens in Stuttgart is being expanded. The German nationwide network is comprised of 268 Infoscreens. The content has been completely made over to meet the changing wants and needs of Infoscreen viewers.

2010

Launch of our new Out-of-Home Channel. The installation of the entire network of about 1,000 screens is set to be completed by the end of 2011.

2011

Ströer Infoscreen becomes Ströer Digital. With about 1,000 screens throughout the country, Ströer Digital Media GmbH is the Out-of-home advertising network with the greatest reach in Germany. A complete content relaunch puts a fresh, modern and appropriate face on our digital media.

The success story of Ströer Digital in digital out-of-home advertising is without equal both in Germany and internationally.
